So if you are saying that yes the Walmart sales are included, which is what I thought as well, and you are saying that NPD's calculations are incorrect as they don't match that of Kaz Hirai statement, then is it not possible that the same error is made not recording what MS's sales are as well?
The only reason you are basing that the NPD is wrong is because you are relying that Kaz Hirai statement is true...which it probably is, however, becasue MS didn't come out and say what ...
i don't think Naughty Dog this gen are known for their "casual" games. Rare has ALWAYS been catering their games to the casual market. So for Rare to make a casual game is really not outside their norm. Where with Naughty Dog, it would look rather odd, especially after releasing Uncharted 2. When you think Naughty Dog, you think GOTY Uncharted 2.
The Crash days are long over. R&C are not selling to the casual market as they once did.
But to accept the quote you refferenced, then you must be accepting then that the total sales for the 360 could also be much higher. So since the Wal-mart variable is removed, it removes all sales from Sony AND MS.
I agree with you. However we are forgetting about the "Trojan Horse" that was implemented into the PS3. You know...the Blu-ray player. Sony took a gamble to add the Blu-Ray player and force it into consumers homes. Now we all know that there is about 33 million blu-ray players in the marked, and we all know Sony makes money off of Blu-ray.
So yes I agree with your analysis, but there are other numbers behind the door that i think compensate or "cusion" t...
Oh god. Steel Batallion is the greatest game ever released. With SB coming out on Natal, you won't need to buy a $300 controller!!! LOL however making movements on the screen would be a lot more difficult than actually having the buttons right on your finger tips.
Damn the more i think about it, the more i realise that it's not going to be Steel batallion. What a shame.
Seriously. Did anyone actually believe Patcher's "analyst" comment about him thinking that Epic regrets releasing the Gears franchise solely on the 360? Remember this is Patcher we're talking about here. Has he gotten ANY prediction right?
Anyone who thought Epic regretted their decision are fools. Maybe I should go back and re-read some of the comments again and see exactly who the fools were.
@Pennywise - Who should be scared? And like the article said " numerous PS3 price cuts, a new slim model being released, and a relatively lackluster year for exclusives on the 360." I think that the 360 did pretty well considering what it was up against in 2009.
@Chris399 - Why are you hating on this guy? He didn't attack the PS3 nor did he say anything all that Pro MS. He is just commenting on the numbers for NPD. He also said " the margin of victory has steadily...
Wow good numbers all around. Damn that Wii just keeps selling. I can't believe that the Wii just keeps selling at such a alarming rate. Good job Nintendo knowing what demographics and target market to focus on.
I just finished another play through to get warmed up for ME2, so I guess this article doesn't apply to me as I am not a "Nobody"...but rather a "Somebody".
It's about time. This should have been added with the first DLC.
How quickly the original comment is soon forgotten.
Jamegohanssj5 says "Longer than both Gears combined. HOOOOOORRRRAAAAYYYYY"
Stanlee replies "Yeah but there is no multiplayer or coop mode to extend the game's shelf life. Your douchy comment wasn't needed."
Stanlee was saying that Gear 1 and 2 had multiplay in it thus prolonging the game's replay value. A lot of Dev time went towards the multiplayer, and the multiplayer allows...
You need to re-read my comment.
The build from the acadamy demo was said by PD that that is the Physics Engine that was going to be used. The demo was to demo the Physics engine (not the graphics) of what will be in the final game.

Remember, there are ONLY 4 million PS3 in Japan. How many are actually used for gaming above Blu-Ray movies is still undetermined. The gaming community could have all bought FFXIII and that's why there are very little sales now.
LOL @ the "poor Rare" comments. Rare now has the opportunity to tap into the same Wii Fit market...which could produce millions of revenue for MS. Rare has already said that they have a bunch of titles in the pipeline and Rare is well known for their games that are targeted at the casual market...so have is Rare making a work-out game any different than the other casual games they made?
LOL that's funny cause when I am playing KZ2 all I hear is..."can anybody hear me?...hello, can anyone hear me? can anyone hear me? 3 minuted pause....then hello, can anyone here me?" then someone would respond "ya I hear ya" then silence for the rest of the game.
Why should Tordavis care about what other regions XBL is available in? How will any other part of the world that doesn't have access to XBL in any means change his gaming experience over XBL?
Every game will have some kind of glitch. nit-picking is sad. We can all find small issues in games.
This here is when PD said that they wanted to display their physics Engine.

"Its common sense" - To who? If it's so common then it shouldn't be hard for you to show proof.
"Well I think he used superior performing multiplat games on 360 that are inferior to ps3 exclusives as a cop out" - This comment makes no sense at all.
"We can compare games in the same genre though" comparing games within the same genre is not comparing Apples to Apples. Game A is not the same game as game B so you cannot compare.
No you are absolutely right. We don't know what the numbers are. Whether the revenue made by Blu-Ray is combined into the same department as the PS3's or if it is with their movie revenues.
The point I was making was SOny may have considered taking the loss knowing/guessing the returns from Blu-ray. Blu-ray being the dominant format now may be "cushioning" the loss of the PS3 but without any numbers available, we really don't know how much or less Blu-ray being add...
